When does the 2026 event take place?
Friday 11th December to Monday 14th December, with racing on Saturday and Sunday.
Can I book for the following year?
Yes, we know international travel takes planning. We have released the dates for the first 5 years and 2027 is live and ready to book.
Where is the event based?
Kanchanaburi, Thailand, with the Royal River Kwai Resort as the hub for registration, transfers, meals, and celebrations.
Which airport should I fly into?
Fly into Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), then 1.5–2 hours to Kanchanaburi by taxi, train, or bus.
Do I have to stay at the Royal River Kwai Resort?
No, but it’s recommended. All transfers, meals, and social events run from the hotel. You can book this as part of your registration. If it’s full, a nearby partner hotel is available.
Guests staying elsewhere – what do I need to do?
Please make your way to the Royal River Kwai Resort for your transfers to race starts or race venues.
I’m travelling solo - is this okay?
Absolutely! Many paddlers come alone, the weekend is designed for connection and community.
Racing & Categories
What races are included?
Saturday: 12km Technical event at Lake View
Sunday: 38km River Kwai downriver paddle
Where does the 38km event finish?
Beneath the iconic Bridge over the River Kwai, a spectacular, historic finish.
I want to race — which category should I choose?
Choose the race-focused category for your board length and type, if chasing a podium or competitive result.
I want to take it steady, which category should I choose?
Choose the adventure category to enjoy the scenery, complete the course at your own pace, and be fully supported.
Is transport provided to race starts?
Yes, coach transfers are included for paddlers and guests staying at the Royal River Kwai Resort. Guests staying elsewhere must make their way to the Royal River Kwai Resort first, and then will be transferred.
How many places are available?
We have 100 places for our inaugural year.
What is Elephant Corner?
A sweeping jungle bend on the River Kwai with possible wildlife sightings, one of the most memorable parts of the course.
Conditions & Environment
What is the weather like?
Tropical: 25–32°C (77–90°F), humid and dry. Hydration and sun protection are essential.
What is the river flow like?
Dam-controlled river with fast-flowing sections (5–10 km/h) and calm technical stretches, creating a dynamic and rewarding course.
What language is spoken?
Thai is the local language, but hotel staff, SUP guides, and organisers speak English.
Equipment & Nutrition
Can I use any board
Yes, both ISUPs and hardboards are welcome.
Can I hire equipment?
Yes — we’re excited to announce our collaboration with SUNOVA, with a range of race boards available to hire during Race 2 the Jungle 2026. We also have paddles and PFDs available, helping make international racing easier and more accessible for everyone. Please contact us at racetothecastle@supfitness.co.uk to reserve equipment.
How do I manage water and snacks during the race?
Water stations and light snacks are provided; paddlers can also bring personal hydration and energy gels/bars.
Can my diet be catered for?
Yes, we can accommodate vegetarian, gluten-free and other special dietary requirements. Please inform us so we can ensure your meals are suitable.

Community & Support
Are guests welcome?
Absolutely. Guests can join dinners, watch races, cheer paddlers, and attend evening celebrations.
Is there a way to connect with other paddlers before the event?
Yes, a WhatsApp group will be set up for communications, training support, logistics, and meeting fellow paddlers ahead of arrival.
Do I need to organise my own logistics?
No, once you have arrived in Kanchanaburi we handle transfers, race safety, on-water support, and the event schedule.
Event Experience
What happens on Sunday evening?
Awards ceremony, after-party, shared dinner, and stories, a proper tropical finish to the weekend.
What happens on Monday?
Breakfast and check-out. You can continue your Thailand adventure or travel home.
Is Race 2 the Jungle just about racing?
No. While racing is a highlight, Race 2 the Jungle is really about adventure, connection, and incredible experiences. Immerse yourself in the jungle, enjoy the stunning scenery, and share unforgettable moments with fellow paddlers and guests.
