EVENT LOGISTICS 2026

Race To The Castle is an exciting downriver one way event. You start in Nottingham and finish in Newark. For those who need logistic support, here is how we get you and your equipment there and back.

Equipment

Start. At registration in Welbeck Hall, Nottingham you will get your board and equipment ready.

For those staying in Newark, there are buses and lorrys organised to bring you to the start, ready for your registration and wave start time. They leave Newark at 5am or 6am.

You will be able to leave your board bag and spare clothes back with us and this will be transported to the end at Newark Castle.

End. At the end of the event, in Newark, the transport vans will be there with the bag you gave us at the start.

You

Start. You’ll paddle to Newark, taking in the beautiful views of The Trent Valley along the way.

End. You car will be at Newark and / or you are staying in Newark for the after party.

For those who decide to stay in Nottingham on the Saturday night or your car is left in Nottingham and you are not joining us for the after party, we will arrange a bus that you can book onto and communicate this throughout the year.

Train - Newark Castle Train Station is a 5min walk from the end of the event. The trains run regularly. You don’t need to book in advance, payment is at the platform. Back in Nottingham, it’s around a 30min walk along the canal back to The Suspension Bridge.

Own Transport- You may have you own transport arranged to meet you at Newark Castle. There is plenty of parking available for your friends and family at Riverside Carpark
